Gamertag Challenge - August 2016 (Zed To Zed)

Let’s get this contest going with the first gamertag to attain:

To qualify for entry you must supply links WITH GAMERID to your achievements you’ve unlocked. I will periodically verify entries and update the list of entrants in the OP. If I haven’t verified you publicly in the thread, assume that I haven’t verified you!

Contest runs from midnight GMT on the 1st of the month until midnight GMT on the last of the month. I chose GMT because this is the timezone the True Achievements servers runs on (helps with verification), and is relatively central to most members timezones.

You must be a member of the forum. Obviously, you all see this and are members, but if you share with friends outside of the site, they must join to participate! Forum tenure will not generally be a barrier for entry.

You must use different games. No doubling up on the S’s, P’s or N’s, etc. However, stacks work so you can play the same game on 2 different platforms. (Note extra rules below for multiple gamertag months).

The name of the achievement does NOT need to begin with one of the listed letters. Only the game name matters.

All achievements must be unlocked online for date verification.

The official name on is the guideline. Games that begin with the words “The”, “A” or “An” will ignore this word and use the next word instead.
Examples: “A World of Keflings” would qualify for the letter W, not the letter A; “The Orange Box” would qualify as “O” and not “T”.
The rationale behind this is simple: A and T are overrepresented in game titles, and skipping the “common articles” gives more scope for some of the other, trickier letters.

Non-alphanumeric characters in a gamertag will be ignored. This means that hyphens, underscores, spaces or any other non-alphabet or numeric character is simply ignored.

Numbers in a gamertag have special rules. As there simply isn’t enough coverage of games beginning with numbers to make it viable using the normal rules, instead, for every digit in a gamertag you need to find a game that has ANY NUMBER in the title somewhere.

Example: If “ZedMaster420” were the gamertag for the month, for each of the numbers 4, 2 and 0 you would need unlock an achievement in games such as “11 Eyes Cross Over”, “50 Cent: Blood on the Sand”, “FIFA 14” or even “Dead of Alive 5”.

You may not use the “8” from games with “(Win 8)” appended to the title on True Achievements; this is not considered part of the game title.

Roman numerals do not count as digits.

Let me know if your gamer tag is different from your forum name. YOU MUST USE YOUR MAIN TAG. Anyone found to have created an alternate tag will have both their main tag and any alternates permanently banned from this contest.

If you have somehow completed every single game to 100% for a particular letter, send me a PM and after verification you be able to skip that letter. Well done you!

This should go without saying, but no game saving or cheating of any form. Anyone caught doing this will be permanently banned from this contest.

Achievements are achievements, so Xbox One app achievements may be used for this contest.
However, challenges are not achievements, so Xbox One challenges are not valid for this contest.

MULTIPLE GAMERTAGS: If there are multiple gamertags for a particular month, the following rules apply:
Completing extra gamertags beyond the first will give you an extra entry into the draw per gamertag completed.
No achievement may be shared across gamertags, however GAMES may be shared. In other words, you can unlock two achievements in the same game and use each achievement for different gamertags.

LETTER SUBSTITUTION: The letters E, I, J, O, Q, U, V, X, Y, and Z are the lowest frequency letters, individually representing less than 2% of all game titles available. Players may substitute these letters, and only these letters, with any other letter as long as that game used to unlock that letter hasn’t already been used within the same tag. Using substitution has a cost.

If a player enters the competition without using substitutions they get 10 entries in the draw, for that tag.
If a player enters the competition and uses at least one substitution, they get 1 entry in the draw, for that tag.
A player may “upgrade” their entry to a full one later if they can fulfill the criteria

Example on How to Qualify:
Using the gamertag “Zed To Zed” as an example, unlock a single achievement in each of these games:

Z - Zombi
E - Escape From Dead Island
D - Dead Rising
T - Two Worlds
O - Orange Box, The
Z - Zombie Driver HD
E - Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The
D - Dying Light

(I realize all of the above games have zombies in them - that is not a pre-requisite, I just like Zombies)

I’ve got a $10 MS Code as a prize for this, so get unlocking!

Here’s a helpful piece for those not familiar to the style of linking needed to enter for the contest…

  • Go to and go to “My Homepage”
  • Next to your name will be “Games” followed by “Achievements”… Click “Achievements”
  • Click the hyperlink (blue text) of any achievement you wish to link. You’ll notice that at the end of the achievement in the address bar says “?gamerid=” followed by a number. This is your personal number to let people know the progress you have made on the achievement.
  • Copy the entire address and bring it over to paste into the site. If you use the link button when posting (or press Ctrl+K) you can add that link and a text. It will display as follows:

R - Roblox - Trailblazer

Makes it very easy to verify entries on the hosts part and it looks spiffy too

Thanks Spanky - I’ve updated the OP to include the full rule set, but yes it shares a remarkable similarity to the original rules. So much so - one might think I just copied and pasted them over.

Welllllllllllllllll… I did notice the “example” tag is slightly different. Hope the original creator doesn’t get too pissed off.
